In most cases it is possible to build your deck half on the concrete slab and half on the yard. To do that you can space out the dek-blocks in the required locations and use a 4x4 post between the dek-block and the deck frame to make sure the deck is level. This should work unless your concrete slab is drastically sloped. A slight slope will not affect the connection for the 4x4.

The best thing to do is take the concrete out. If the concrete is not sloped very much then you should be able to put the deck over the concrete. In most cases the concrete is not frost protected so you can put half the deck over the patio and half the deck on the grass.
