2x4 vs 2x6 for support boards 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago  
I am planning on building a deck but want it very low to the ground. Can you use 2x4 boards instead of 2x6 boards for the support boards?

We do not recommend building an entire deck using 2"x4" support boards. 2x4 lumber is not considered a structural building material when used for joists.
