We are going to be building a larger, low deck off the back of our house this spring. I am antsy to start! Especially given the warm winter we have had.

How dry should the ground be when I start building? The house is 150 years old so the yard is well settled!

Make sure the frost is out of the ground. Other than that the ground should be relatively dry. Its not a good idea to build on mud.
