Let me ask you what do you consider immediately? And since I am sure that you are talking about me then please point out where I was rude? This site is sponsered by the makers of deck block. It is not a free site as you imply but supposed to be a help for those of us that have purchased their product.

We are working on the plans. There are a lot of different size pools and configurations. Things take longer to complete in the middle of the summer when we have A LOT of people across the country building decks of all types and sizes. We have made a few modifications to the plan and methods in the splash deck. We have been testing these methods this summer on different decks. A Splash pool deck is not some simple backyard bench that just sits there. There are major health safety and building code requirements to consider. We take this extremely serious and want all of our plans to be accurate and safe. If we aren't accurate, it will cost you and me a lot of time and money.

Yes, we sell Dek-Block brand piers. These are a very small percentage of the overall cost of the deck. I/we don't want to give out plans that aren't safe, waste materials, or inefficient designs just to sell a few more blocks. I truly hope people don't believe that we recommend different sizes, or methods or requirements just to sell a couple more blocks. This is not true.

We hope to have completed plans by the end of July. I too wish we had them done sooner, but until they are 100% complete, we are not going to post them.

If you are needing a plan sooner, please visit www.customdeckplans.com They have agreed to provide a 4ft or 5ft Splash plan and material list (no custom modifications) for $50 until our plans are complete. Submit their standard planning guide with your size pool and deck width. Add "Deckman Splash Forum Special" to one of the drawings.

UPDATE: We are REALLY close to being done. We have a beta-draft of the instructions and the plans drawn (not into printable format). A few more hours of making the designs web quality and grammar correct. Then the fun part of getting the material lists and everything online. Take a look mid-next week for a full list. Or you can e-mail me at deckman@deckplans.com with your size of pool and we will get it to you when the plan is complete. These are looking sharp and the design has been improved. I am pretty excited with how they turned out.

For those that care and wonder why these took a little longer, the 2009 International residential building code will have some new very specific requirements for deck construction. Until now, there has been very little in regards to specific information on decks. They will be focusing on Ledger board attachment (which we don't need to worry about with the pier blocks) and handrail connections. The new loading and construction requirements will impact our previous design for the railing system on the splash pool decks. The new design is a little more complex but extremely strong and will comply with future requirements in deck construction.

Great news Deckman 1 Year, 7 Months ago
Unlike some, I for one am very impressed with the help you provide on this site. I know its in your best interest to support those that are using your system, however, it is still not that common.
I am anxiously awaiting the larger splash deck plans. Thanks again for the great site and support!
