Sierk July 1999

Winner: Mrs. Sierk - July 1999

Overview

"We were so happy to find that someone had come out with a product like your concrete pier block. So much time and work was saved by not having to dig post holes and wait for cement to set before we could proceed. Besides, it left us with some possibilities of "changing our minds," they could be moved so easily. We began our project by putting up a 15'X30' oval, above ground swimming pool. Then we wanted an area where the pool steps would come out onto a deck, and where we could sit and watch the kids swimming, and be able to reach them quickly if we needed to. The pool is 4' deep, so we built the initial deck 12'X12' by 2' high, and have 3 steps leading to the pool ladder, and also where people can sit and dangle their feet. We put a wrought iron gate at this level so our grandchildren cannot get to the steps alone. We then added the lower deck for more seating and entertaining. We ran electricity to several areas, including a breaker for the pool pump, and also an off and on switch that can be turned on at the house. We then added a wooden walk from the patio area of the house out to the deck area. We are so happy with the whole project, it has been one of our best summers ever, and it all began with Dek-Blocks. We were so happy with the results my sister built a deck using the blocks too, and we have drawn much interest from others. Thanks for making our wishes come true. "
