Overview

"It was a great time to learn a new thing and it was the first time I ever built any thing as big as a deck. I started with the plan that I got from freedeckplans.com and I spent time viewing all of posted projects from others on the freedeckplans.com website. I couldn't imagine how easy it was to work with these Dek- Blocks and follow your instructions.

My project is a 8 x 8 deck. I used 15 blocks as instructed. First I had to cut down a cherry tree which was right in the way. I used composite decking material for the floor and steps. I used redwood 4x4 for all 6 posts. The railing is made with 2x4 red wood and decorated with black bulusters( black bars). These turned out really nice as see in the picture, very contemporary. In addition, the hand rail actually was made from the redwood bar that I found in fencing section at my local building supply store which has a L shape on one side of the hand rail, which made it look much more professional. The floodlight set I put around the deck made it look even more attractive at night. Last but not least, I had a first BBQ on my new floating deck system with my family. We really enjoyed the new deck and want to thank the inventors of floating deck system. We are planning to do the next deck, which will have the spa on it."
